Cost:£20.00 per person
About this experience
Class: Make Art Make Change Class
Dates: October 9th (2.30-4.30pm) and October 10th (12pm-2pm)
Level: Ages 7-11
Our co-founder Liz Wellstead previously set up two local art classes in Bridge and Patrixbourne to help develop children's creativity through the use of visual language. These classes are relaunching at our studio space in Canterbury and will be held there on an ongoing basis.
This workshop is open to children that have attended in the past, but we are also taking on new participants who would like to join our new class when it starts in October. In this workshop, we will design and create a series of prints – inspired by the artist Angie Lewin – using found objects from nature and a variety of surfaces.
In this workshop:
* Open to children ages 7-11
* Spaces are limited to 15 attendees (Age 7 until 11)
* This workshop will also be assisted by CSVA students from Canterbury college as part of our mentorship programme
Tutor: Liz Wellstead
For the last 20 years I have been teaching art two days a week at Canterbury college. I see how the lack of opportunities can be such a barrier for FE students looking to move into the creative industries. I want us to pioneer a way to support young people by providing apprenticeships and hands-on experience for young people so that they can follow their own dreams.
