About this experience

6-Week NIGHT Course: Press On Print Club
Dates: From 8th November to December 13th.
Held weekly on Wednesdays: 6pm-9pm
Level: Age 16+

Welcome to Canterbury's first print club in the city centre as we introduce you to different aspects of relief and intaglio print processes such as monoprint, drypoint, screenprint and many more. This 6 week course will start with an induction to the main disciplines involved in printmaking, including the safe use and operation of the materials and equipment used in a studio.

Starting with monoprint we will cover traced, reductive and colour, using traditional and non traditional materials. You will be shown techniques both with and without a press so you can develop your skills at home on the kitchen table. This club is suitable for beginners and also for people with basic knowledge of printmaking, who would like to develop their skills in a friendly and relaxed setting in the city centre.

We will help you learn a range of printmaking techniques through practical experience and experimentation in our studio. You will be able to develop your images from personal sources and projects and discover how printmaking can have a transformative effect on your initial sketches, designs or ideas.

We will cover techniques such as lino printing, drypoint, and drypoint etching by taking a step by step approach to methods, and an experimental approach to image making.

* The course fee covers basic materials such as inks, and standard quality paper
* Tea, coffee and refreshments are provided

* Use monotype/drypoint /lino technique to produce an image
