Hand carved from a storm torn oak branch, this vase was free carved to enable the piece to develop naturally. After the shape was completed, the piece was ebonised with a solution made from soaking a ball of steel wool in apple cider vinegar. The liquid is applied direct to the wood and causes a chemical reaction to occur which, after several minutes, results in the wood turning a rich blue black colour.
- Created in October 2020.
- Dimensions: 41cm x 19cm.
